Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Cladify LITE, Cladify PRO+, and CladiFab?

All three products share the same composite substrate and attachment logic. Cladify LITE is a standardized ventilated rainscreen: two panel sizes, ten curated finishes in stone and porcelain, shipped as a complete ready-to-install package. Cladify PRO+ is fully custom: any panel size up to 144 x 60 in for stone and porcelain and 300 x 72 in for aluminum, with complex geometry capability. CladiFab is a complete prefabricated wall system, delivering the facing, insulation, air and moisture barriers, and slab connections as one factory-built unit installed floor by floor.

What is a ventilated rainscreen cladding system?

A ventilated rainscreen separates the exterior cladding from the structural wall with a continuous air cavity. The cavity is vented so pressure equalizes across the cladding face, removing the force that drives water into sealed assemblies. Any moisture that enters drains at each floor and dries, protecting the building envelope over its full service life. Learn more on our Facade Walls application page.

How does the wall system handle moisture?

Water is channeled through a small drainage gap in the panel and drains out at each floor level. The pressure-equalized cavity behind the cladding removes the pressure differential that pushes water inward, so the assembly manages moisture continuously rather than relying on face seals that degrade over time.

Can you make panels for soffits, ceilings, or other overhead conditions?

Yes, in most cases. Cladify panels are engineered for overhead conditions including soffits, canopies, podium ceilings, and covered walkways, with concealed attachment and overhead-rated backings. See Soffits & Ceilings, and send us your drawings and we will confirm feasibility for your specific condition.

Can you make custom shapes, like decorative trim or profiles?

Yes. We fabricate custom profiles using our honeycomb-backed panel technology, including baguette profiles, bullnoses, column wraps, and project-specific trim. See Columns & Monolithic Forms for the range. Custom shapes are engineered from your plan and section details, then confirmed in shop drawings before production.

What size are Cladify panels?

Cladify LITE comes in two standardized sizes: 73 x 36 in (1,854 x 922 mm) and 73 x 18 in (1,854 x 456 mm). Cladify PRO+ and CladiFab panels are fabricated to custom dimensions up to 144 x 60 in (3,658 x 1,524 mm) for stone and porcelain and 300 x 72 in (7,620 x 1,829 mm) for aluminum. Final panel sizes and arrangement are confirmed per project in your quote and shop drawings.

How thick is the stone surface on a Cladify panel?

The standard surface thickness is 0.24 in (6 mm) across stone and porcelain. The full panel with extruded aluminum profile backing is 1.3 in (34 mm); honeycomb-backed panels vary with core thickness. See Stone for the full range.

Can I get a custom color?

Yes. Custom colors can be quoted for aluminum and porcelain surfaces. Send us the target color and material and we will confirm feasibility and pricing for your project.

Can you match a color already approved elsewhere on my building?

Yes. We match approved colors and provide physical samples for your review before production, so the new scope carries the same finish as the approved work.

What colors and finishes are available?

Cladify LITE offers ten curated finishes: five stone and five porcelain. Cladify PRO+ opens the full range: Stone in polished, honed, flamed, grooved, and brushed; Porcelain in polished, granular, honed, and textured; and Aluminum in polished, matt, and patina effects. Custom colors can be quoted on request.

What fire ratings do Cladify panels meet?

Cladify panels pass NFPA 285 and CAN/ULC S134 full-scale wall assembly fire tests, achieve a Class A rating under ASTM E84, and are verified non-combustible under CAN/ULC S114 and ASTM E136. Fire-rated data sheets are provided as part of the standard submittal process.

What wind and structural loads can the system handle?

The system is tested to ASTM E330 at a design load of plus or minus 80 psf (3,840 Pa) with no failure, and has passed more than 3,500 cyclic pressure load cycles equivalent to 165 mph winds under ASTM E1886 / TAS 203, along with large missile impact testing under ASTM E1996. Project-specific structural and wind load reports are prepared and shared as part of project coordination.

How well does the system keep out air and water?

Air leakage is tested to ASTM E283 at 0.031 cfm/ft2 at 300 Pa, and water penetration testing to ASTM E331 shows no infiltration at 15 psf (720 Pa). Salt spray, UV exposure, and freeze-thaw testing show no visible change or deleterious effects.

What structural support does the panel system need?

Support requirements are confirmed per project through your engineer of record. Cladify provides structural calculations, attachment details, and load documentation to support that review as part of standard project coordination. Early engagement through Design Assist resolves this before shop drawings.

What is the process from drawing approval to installation?

Shop drawings, panel layout, and a physical sample are approved before production begins. Panels are then manufactured on our automated lines in Toronto, and delivery is coordinated with your site team on your installation sequence. We confirm an estimated shipping date when material is ready and keep you updated if it shifts. See Our Services for the full project process.

Can I change my panel design after production starts?

No. Once panels are in production, design changes cannot be made. This is why shop drawings, panel layout, and sample approval all happen before the bill of materials is issued and production begins. Changes before production are handled through a costed change order.

How are change orders handled once a project is underway?

Send us the change and your deadline, and we will return a costed change order for approval before any work proceeds. Changes are only possible before panels enter production.

How do I get a quote?

Send us your project address and drawings and we will prepare a proposal. Quotes include panel sizes, arrangement, and pricing specific to your project. Contact our team to start.

Do you offer installation, or just supply the panels?

Both, depending on the project. Supply-only is standard, and supply-and-install is available on select projects. Contact us with your project details and we will confirm what is available for you.

Is there a minimum order size?

Cladify LITE has a minimum order of 5,000 SQFT (464.5 sqm). Cladify PRO+ and CladiFab have a minimum order of 25,000 SQFT (2,322.5 sqm). For projects below these thresholds, contact us and we will confirm what options are available.

How does invoicing and material release work?

Invoicing follows project milestones, and material ships once the corresponding payment is received. Milestones and terms are set out in your proposal.

Do I need specialty trades to install Cladify panels?

No. Cladify systems install with standard cladding crews using conventional tools. Panel-by-panel layout drawings, sequencing guidance, and installation documentation are provided with every order, and on-site training is available through Design Assist.

Can panels be trimmed on site if measurements are slightly off?

Yes. Panels can be released slightly oversized for on-site trimming to suit as-built conditions. On Cladify LITE, the optional FlexFit add-on provides adjustable modules cut to size on site for corners, openings, and irregular wall dimensions.

How are panel joints sealed?

Panel joints use a two-stage sealing system with an interior tape rather than a gasket. Combined with the pressure-equalized cavity, this manages air and water at the joint without relying on a single exposed seal. See Details and Returns for edge and joint conditions.

What if a panel doesn't fit a tight or unusual space?

We design a joint detail to resolve tight or unusual conditions rather than splitting the panel. Project-specific conditions like this are engineered during shop drawings, so the resolution is documented before fabrication rather than improvised on site.

Can Cladify be used on retrofit and recladding projects?

Yes. The standoff mounting system accommodates variation in existing wall conditions without major remediation, and panels are fabricated to as-built dimensions. Lightweight construction means most existing structures can carry the new facade without reinforcement. See Recladding & Retrofit.

What happens if there is a deficiency after installation?

Our site team reviews the issue, schedules the repair work, and keeps you updated through resolution.

Can I get a physical sample?

Yes. Order a Sample through the website or send us a shipping address, and we will typically have it to you within one to two weeks. Samples are available across the Stone, Porcelain, and Aluminum ranges.

Do you provide project mockups?

Yes. Full-scale prototypes and mockups are produced for stakeholder review as part of the Design Assist process, and physical samples are approved before production begins on every project.

What warranty do Cladify products carry?

All Cladify products carry a lifetime warranty. Panels are engineered for the full service life of the building envelope, with no panel replacement required under normal conditions and minimal maintenance over the building's lifetime.

Does Cladify support LEED certification?

Yes. Cladify panels can contribute to LEED credits through reduced material use, lightweight construction that lowers embodied carbon, long service life, and improved envelope thermal performance. Contact us for project-specific sustainability documentation. Learn more on About Us.

Are Cladify panels recyclable?

The aluminum honeycomb core and extruded aluminum profile components are fully recyclable at end of life. The panels themselves are engineered for longevity, with a lifetime warranty that avoids the replacement cycles responsible for most of a facade's lifetime impact.
